Well, I guess you're a little behind on your news. They already voted it down yesterday. It makes no sense, but there ya go. I hear no complaints about serial killers being held in a prison in your neighborhood. if you are so afraid that terrorists will escape, why not the serial killer? This was a Republican campaign to frighten people into believing that it was OK to keep Guantanamo open, in spite of the fact that it creates such a good recruiting poster for terrorists, both elsewhere and, as we discovered last night, here.

Abu Ghraib is in Iraq, now under the control of the Iraqi government. Congress can no more vote to close it down than the Iraqi government could vote to shut San Quentin prison.
