I think it depends on the crime. Child molester or intentionally killing someone would make me skeptical but, time served on small theft or pot charges would be something else.

Leave off the dates and emphasize your skills and abilities. Basically the same thing a stay-at-home parent would do when they are ready to go back to work.

The conviction will come out eventually, but you can at least try to get your foot in the door before it does. If you do get in for the interview, you then will have to prove that what you did was a mistake and you learned your lesson from it.

My son was arrested for violation of probation due to incarceration of traffic violations. He has been in jail going on two weeks in Dekalb County. What can I do to expedite an arraignment for violation probation on his behalf. He has a job, goes to college and has a small child. He is definitley not a threat to anyone. Please advise.

You need to contact his attorney - since he is already sentenced and (was) released on probation - he is under the jurisdiction of the court, and only the proper motions can get the matter back on the court’s docket. Believe me - the court will be in no hurry to hear your son’s case. Probation violations are "violations" of the court’s order - and viewed very dimly by the judge.

Where can I find information on this topic? I know people who are convicted of crimes can be discharged from prison and get an education from a college, but are they able to get certified or licensed at a trade school?

I’ve spent a considerable amount of time in the California State Prison System. I find that I owe a lot of back child supprt. I am trying to straighten my life out, but with this enormous debt, it puts me in a diverse situation. Is there any way to get the back support reduced because of my incarceration?, and what can I do about wage garnish? I don’t want to go back to prison for failure to pay.

Looking from a tax-payer’s point of view, what are the average cost differences (in the state of NY) of sending a convicted criminal to a mental hospital vs. prison. Through my searching I’ve only been able to find that the cost of mental treatment is more…but I have been unable to find any sort of solid numbers proving this statement. Can anyone help?

Probably more for the mental hospital sense they make the patients more miserable, or more enjoyable depending on the patient lol. (not serious)
