no offense, but it may be best if you waited with the marriage until the inmate is being released from prison. Another aspect is that getting a job these days is darn difficult, yet impossible for a convicted felon. I don’t know what kind of life you have in mind for yourself, but I can’t imagine just scraping by can be very tempting. There are about 312 million people currently in the U.S. How about picking one that at least is not a criminal? How about doing one better by finding one that has a career and will be able to provide you with a decent life, nice things, vacations instead?

for convenience sometimes federal level prisoners will go to State institutions if they must appear in court on more charges if the state institution is closer to the court

in situations like that the Federal system might maintain a cell block for federal inmates in that state prison
