Please take note that most correctional facilities don’t allow 800 or Toll Free calls. So if an inmate will use a phone card that only has Toll Free number for its access number then its going to be pretty useless.

Get a phone card with local access number from within the correctional facility. Check out Onesuite if they got one -> http://www.onesuite.com/access_search.asp

You normally have to purchase minutes from the private company that the jail uses. It might cost like $25 for only 10 minutes. It's really crazy.

Calling cards don't work like that. You'd have to send the card to the person at the correctional facility from whom you want to receive calls.

What you do is its called Telelink the number is advanced pay i have the number 1-800-483-8314 you pay 25 or 50 and the inmate can call you at anytime. You just use your credit card or bank card and he/she will be able to call the house and it doesnt cost the house any money since you clearly already paid.
