Identify current methods used to maintain inmate custody and control in correctional facilities?

To keep them in custody:

-Provoke violent fights that result in maming or death of an inmate so the defendant picks up another charge (as in some CA facilities)

-Imposing "open sentancing" as opposed to set amounts of time ie 5yrs in a state correctional facility vs. 5-15 years in a correctional facility

-Three strikes law

Shoot em in the a** when they try to run away? That’s how we do it where I come from.
