Does the Department of Corrections do an extensive employment background check?

I was terminated from the South Carolina Department of Correction for being involved with a co-worker. I am moving this summer to another state so I sent an online application in to the DOC of that state and today I got a letter. They want me to come in and take a comprehension test. I don’t want to go take the test if they can find out about my employment with South Carolina. Thank you for any and all help.

of course they can, DOC investigates just like the Police
