How do you go about filing a complaint with the department of corrections if you work for them…?
How would one go about filing a complaint with the dept. of corrections… if you work for them.. my husband is being harrassed at his job…. badly….and no one is listening to him….so, he wants to take his complaint higher up… how does he go about doing that… who would he file a complaint with … please no smart "A" comments….thanks.

Step carefully. I worked for the VA and I’m telling you as soon as you complain they might make matters worse. I don’t like to display too much about my self in public forums so I could tell you some pitfalls if your interested. There should be a chain of command (notifying appropriate supervisor/s) to go thru before a written complaint is filed, in an attempt to solve the problem. I do agree that your husband should probably be ready for some repercussions from others. No body likes "a whiner" or someone that makes waves, even if it’s legitimate.

Document everything first, and throughout the process.
One has to start through the chain of command. Departments of Correction are generally like the military. Chances are his immediate superior is aware, but you have to start with him/her in any case.
You are dealing with a closed society here, and you have to be careful. Even if your husband wins, chances are he’ll be out of a job.
That is wrong, but often the truth.
