How do I send mail to an inmate?

When mailing to an inmate, please make sure:

the inmate’s name is as it appears on Department of Corrections records (i.e., no nicknames);
inmate’s SID number is included;
the name of the prison is correct;
correct prison address;
return address must show the complete name and address of the sender;
only allowed enclosures should be sent; and
no mail should contain more than 10 pages per category (i.e., pamphlet, letter, photocopies, drawings, etc.)
do not send unauthorized enclosures (blank paper, SASE´s, pornography).
If you have questions regarding inmate mail, they should first be directed to the mailroom at the institution where the person is located.
