I am an ex felon myself and am considering the field of pharmacy technician. I wrote the certification board and let them see what I was charged with . They replied by letting me know I would not be able to take the certification exam until 2012. Each applying felon is subject to a review by the Board of Plumbing Examiners, some get a license, some don't, a lot depends on the crime. Fraud or sexual crimes, definitely not. The felon will normally not be bondable, which can be a problem for some trades (most plumbers who work on call are bonded, for instance).
