Should male offenders be mandated to pay for their incarceration?

Prisons are not as profitable as they thought they would be. If a man is incarcerated for a serious crime such as rape or murder, shouldn’t he pay for food medicine and clothes and electricity, water?

No. These people would have no way of income other then a few meager jobs that they are able to do from with the walls.
