Yes there is. But you would have to look it up in the state prison the person is in. Example if you live in Ny you would go to http://www.docs.state.ny.us just run a google or yahoo search for the prison that the person is in and you will be able to pull up there information as long as you have they first and last name. If they have a common name it’s also best to know the year of birth.
