What is an inmates expiration date? Does the inmate have to serve all of his time until this date or is there?

Is there any way an inmate can be released before his sentence expiration date? What is a sentence expiration? My fiance’s parole eligibility date is June 4th but his sentence expiration is Feb. 24, 2012. Can someone please explain this?

its pretty simple if he gets parole he gets out after his parole hearing if he doesnt he gets out in 2012

  1. Almost all prisons have "good time release dates". That is time that will be taken off their sentence for good behavior. In some cases it can cut an inmate’s sentence in half, in others it is only a couple of months. It really just depends on the crime and if there is a mandatory amount of time that must be served. It sounds like in this case your fiance will be up for parole on June 4th, but whether or not he is released will be up to the parole board.
