Any updated information on California prisons bill to release inmates early?
I would really like to find a sight that has current up-to date info on the cdcr early release of non-violent offenders, does anyone know any? And what do you think of inmates who are non-violent non-sex offenders being released early?
It is a work in progress as individual cases are taken into account. This is not something like a blanket provision.

The document you referred to was dated February, 2009, long before the state submitted a plan (Nov. 12 2009). I am also interested in the logistics of implementation, but haven’t been able to find much of anything. In fact, there doesn’t seem to be much available, including whether or not the federal panel has accepted the proposed plan. Part of that plan would require the federal panel to override the state (without additional legislation which failed the state Senate on prison budget proposals). Here’s the link to that document. It also contends the feds are acting unconstitutionaly (sp?) so once again, it’s being taken to an appellate court.
