What are the chances of going to jail for failure to stop for a school bus?

Got a ticket for failure to stop for a school bus. I did stop just started going early after I saw the kids where on the bus, but before the red lights stopped flashing. This happened in Colorado, and the bus driver specifically checked on his report that the children were not in immediate danger. I understand the max penalties are $1000 fine and 90 days in jail. but what are my chances of just getting a fine?

    Depends on how many other tickets you have had. If this is a first offence and you just started out too early they may only fine you. All you can do is tell the judge the truth.

    F those busses, I zip around them with the sign up and everything. You will be fine, at most a very minimal fine probably under $100. I don’t understand why they have to stop cars on the other side of the road where no one is getting on or off the bus. Lol god I hate children.

  5. Almost all traffic violations carry a jail sentence. Very, very few people actually go to jail.

    You will most likely get a fine, You may all so lose your drivers license! I do not think you will go to jail. In IL. that is auto suspension of your license! Do not know CO. laws on this.
