What’s the difference between the conditions in jail and the conditions in prison?
I know the difference as far as jail is less than a year where prison is long term………
but how do the conditions inside jails compare to the conditions inside prisons?
The prisons are cleaner, they are more organized, having people engage in activities, better medical care.GED, better food, more escape proof, and some even make room available for conjugal visits. Whereas jails are dirtier, smaller, less privacy, but easier to escape from and less trained personnel. I understand that the private jail that some states have bought into are a disaster, Underpaid and untrained staff ,Therefore more brutality and often far from home so visiting is impeded. Anyway one puts it they are not nice places to be in,
its not exactly the conditions as its the time spent there
jail tends to be thee temporary holding place
while prison is where u stay after you r sentenced

I spent short periods of time in a few different jails and I’ve heard from several former prison/current jail inmates that prison is much more comfortable to stay in. They have school programs and work programs and you get to go outside. In jail you sit in your cell and in the day room all day. If you’re lucky the jail provides books, games, and a working television.
