People from countries with cushy jails only: Would you murder a homeless person to avoid becoming homeless?
Rather than living on the cold streets and begging, would you prefer to spend 15 years probably less with all your food and board paid for, free cable TV in your cell, and playstation, simply by murdering another homeless person and confessing to the police.
Americans need not answer as their jails are not cushy like ours are.
Yes, certainly, especially coming up to Xmas
Good question! As a uk resident, 15 years in a hotel…sorry: prison………sounds far better than being on the streets. But, im a bit adverse to the whole murder thing….i dont think i could live with the guilt no matter how comfy my suite..sorry…cell.
hmmm. I really dont know: I would choose a homeless guy who had a terminal illness…and do it in a humane way…so yes; I’d kill a tramp.

well why not rob a bank, that way if you get away with it you can have the best of things.
to be honest i don’t think being in prison is that nice
and lets face it in the UK there is lots of help out there, most people that are on the streets are there coz they choose to be, yes they maybe mentally not all there, they may have drug or drink problems but its there choice

I wouldn’t kill anyone unless they were trying to harm me or my family. It is feasible however, that I could commit a serious crime when I reach retirement age in order to get 3 hots and a cot if the intervening governments can’t pay back the money that the last idiot government pi55ed against the wall and I end up (as is very likely) with nothing to live on!

No, beat him up then you both get a home
In all seriousness no. There are many crimes that will get you into jail without having to kill someone or directly assualting people. Plus you also get less time in jail. In reality you’d only need a couple of years for them to get you back on your feet.
However, unfortunatley cases similar to what you have said keep cropping up.

Prisoners do not get "free cable tv" and playstations in their cells. But a prisoner can buy a playstation. Unfortunately your 12 hour working day will only pay about £10 a week, from which you must buy your things like phone calls and cigarettes etc. Considering the playstation will be sold to you at its market price, you would have to be serving life to afford one!
And don’t presume life means "15 years". Lots of life prisoners in UK prisons have served far longer, and there are many who are never likely to be paroled.
